Julian Barnes competition – the winners!

By | July 18, 2011

We had a fantastic response to our Julian Barnes competition and last week I selected 5 winners at random. Many thanks to everyone who entered – it is great to see that there are so many Julian Barnes enthusiasts out there! The answers to those all important competition questions are as follows:

1) Julian Barnes begins Nothing to be Frightened of by stating, "I don't believe in God, but I miss Him". What does his brother Jonathan Barnes make of this statement? Julian's brother thought the sentiment 'soppy'

2) Julian Barnes recently won what prestigious literary award? The David Cohen Prize for Literature

3) Which Julian Barnes short story was featured in the May 2011 edition of Playboy Magazine? Carsassonne

Winners should recieve their copies of the book this week. Apologies to those who did not win on this occasion – keep your eyes peeled for future competitions on the blog!
