Hospitable Text: New Approaches to Religion & Literature Conference

By | July 14, 2011

We are really looking forward to attending the Hospitable Text Conference at the University of Notre Dame London Centre later today. Organised and run by the series editors for our New Directions in Religion and Literature series, this conference focuses on the resurgence of interest in the relationship between religion and literature. The conference brings together a wide variety of scholars in the area which should make for some interesting and lively debates in the next couple of days.

Speakers include many of our authors – The Archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams (Dostoevsky), John Schad (The Late Walter Benjamin), Stephen Prickett (European Romanticism: A Reader), Arthur Bradley (New Atheist Novel), Jo Carruthers (England's Secular Scripture) and Emma Mason (Series Editor of New Directions in Religion and Literature series).

We will have all of our books from the New Directions in Religion and Literature series on display at the event, as well as the books listed above. To whet your appetite, here are some online previews from the books currently available in the series!
